I came across this tuner on someone else’s Ugliest Porsche Cayennes list last week. Personally, I’m not in love with it, but I do like pretty much anything that spices up the Cayenne a bit.
This particular creation is the work of Jeremie Paret, former editor at luxury tuning magazine Modify turned car stylist. He named his creation Balrog. No clue what that means or references. I even looked up the name “Balrog” on a French to English translation site and came up with nothing.
The major changes are cosmetic with only a few touching the power plant. The biggest part of the cosmetic kit, which took 8 months of development and research, is the front bumper that has a number of significant changes to it. I think that’s one of the weakest points of the Cayenne visually, so I’m always happy to see something in that department.
The package also includes additional widebody components and options for the interior as well. Supposedly the car is quicker due to improved intercooling and brake cooling, but again, nothing significant there. Course I still don’t think that you drive a Cayenne for it’s performance characteristics.

I hate to say it, but it’s not even close to being my least favorite interpretation of the Cayenne. We’ve all seen worse. That being said, I think he’s borrowing a few too many styling queues from the Audi’s w/ respect to the grill area.
…I dont see it as any better or any worse than some of the other tuner styling packages out there. …I think i have seen worse.
You looked in the wrong book for Balrog. Put down the dictionary and open up a copy of Lord of the Rings 🙂
yuck!
i dont mind it, though it is similar to the audi. the cayenne is really pretty basic anyway – it needs more “character” i think.
the french need to stick to what they make best – stinky cheese
