Is Spyker Getting Into the Porsche 911 “Game”?

Spyker C8 Aileron

Reports and rumors are floating around that Spyker may be preparing a car directly aimed at competing with the Porsche 911. The car is, whatever it is, is scheduled to be revealed at the upcoming Geneva Auto Show.

Spyker CEO, Victor Muller, is quoted as saying, “I say nothing other than it will surprise you. Come to our conference.”

For those not familiar with Spyker, they are a boutique high end sports car manufacturer responsible for some very fine automobiles that are outlandishly designed. Given the designs of the Spyker cars, Victor Muller and Uwe Gemballa must have been related.

What’s interesting about the potential Porsche 911 competitor is it would require a significant price reduction over Spyker’s historically $200k+ starting point to be competitive with the general 911 model.

Can’t wait to see what is announced next month!
