I, like most kids, grew up fantasizing about exotic cars. Everything from Lamborghinis and Ferraris to Porsches and Rolls Royces. I especially loved trips to California, particularly the Los Angeles and Beverly Hills areas where you stood a better than average chance of seeing these amazing rides in person.
The Porsche “bug” bit me hard when I was 15. A friend of mine and I pulled into the local Porsche dealership to kill some time. One thing led to another and the next thing I knew, I was behind the wheel of a gorgeous 944 on a test drive on some back country roads. At least I had my learner’s permit.
From that point on, I was hooked on Porsches and decided I had to own one. I started buying every single magazine that had any reviews or news about Porsche cars and even subscribed to the then brand new Porsche Magazine (now Excellence Magazine). It took me a long time, consequently, to get rid of most of those magazines (my wife would love it if I would finish the job).
Since that first day, test driving a Porsche 944, I’ve had the opportunity to drive a number of Porsches, as well as other exotics. I’ve owned a Ferrari and a Porsche, and have expanded my exotic car appreciation to pretty much all the usual suspects (Ferrari, Lamborghini, Porsche) and some not so popular ones (Bentley, Maserati, Aston Martin, Lotus). A growing list of cars “to own some day” keeps me motivated to continue learning about cars, working hard, and crossing them off the list one by one.
This blog started out Porsche focused (it was formerly called PorschePerfect.com) and represented a milestone moment in my life a few years ago when I decided to look for my first Porsche. I found a gorgeous Porsche 911 Cabriolet we gave away to one lucky reader the following year. The name change was the result of a desire to include other exotic sports cars I’ve also had a passion for.
This blog is a journey of a life long affection for exotic cars, both past and years to come.
