This caught be by surprise. The head of Bugatti Design, Achim Anscheidt, owns a Porsche. But not just any Porsche, it’s a minimalist’s car to the extreme.
It’s a stripped down 1981 Porsche 911 that has quite the weight to power ratio thanks to the replacement of a number of body panels with Kevlar ones, and the removal of pretty much anything not essential. This includes the heater, radio, carpets, sound proofing, etc.
I love this statement in the video when talking about his Porsche in relation the cars Bugatti produces:
It almost feels like a relief from time to time to do the exact opposite and come back to super simplistic approaches that maybe also don’t cost the world.
This is a gorgeous car. It reminds me of the Singer Porsches that I fell in love with a couple of years ago. It truly represents the less is more mentality…with gusto!
